The Harvard Art Museums’ newest special exhibition, Inventur—Art in Germany, 1943–55, will be on view from February 9 through June 3, 2018. The first exhibition of its kind, Inventur examines a largely unaddressed moment in modern German art—from just before the end of World War II to the decade just after—and features more than 160 works by nearly 50 artists, including women who were integral to exhibitions at the time but whose work has often been ignored. Much of the artwork presented has never been on view outside Germany.

Opening this weekend at Pace Gallery in New York, 16x20 is a retrospective of abstract paintings by New York-based artist Thomas Nozkowski. Spanning forty years of paintings in this size, the exhibition shows the evolution of Nozkowski’s style and interests.
Europe is in the throes of a massive refugee crisis with millions of asylum-seekers fleeing war-torn lands like Syria, Afghanistan, and Somalia. Among those forced from their homeland include writers, artists, singers, and other creatives who now can find refuge and a place to practice their craft in Paris.

The Center Significantly Expands Its Collection of Modern and Contemporary British Photographs with a Major Gift
Through a significant gift of 125 photographs from the London-based collectors Claire and James Hyman, the Center expands its collection to include the work of notable modern and contemporary British photographers.
Kabinett to feature 30 specially curated presentations
A fresh-to-the-market painting by Le Corbusier, Baigneuse, Barque et Coquillage, (painted between 1934-47), will be offered at Bonhams Impressionist & Modern Art sale on 1 March 2018 in London. Purchased directly from the artist's estate, this is the first time that the work will appear at auction, having featured in several international exhibitions as one of the keystone works by Le Corbusier. The painting is estimated of £1.4-1.8 million.
