South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art

Christie’s announces the September sale of South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art taking place on September 12 during Asian Art Week New York, with a highlights tour to Mumbai from August 23-25 prior to the New York exhibition from September 7-12. The sale includes 89 lots and is expected to realize in excess of $7 million, featuring works by celebrated modern artists Tyeb Mehta, Akbar Padamsee, Francis Newton Souza,Manjit Bawa, and Syed Haider Raza, alongside works by artists Nasreen Mohamedi, Maqbool Fida Husain, Vasudeo S. Gaitonde, Ram Kumar and others.
