The Canton Museum of Art is proud to present Good Times: The Artistic Journey of Ernie Barnes in collaboration with the Ernie Barnes Estate, Ortuzar, New York, and Andrew Kreps Gallery, New York, coming August 18 – November 1, 2026. In pop culture Barnes’ artwork appears on album covers, television, and movies, especially his iconic dance hall scene, The Sugar Shack (1976). “Music, dancing, and art were an integral part of my identity throughout my life,” Barnes said. This exhibition will showcase a wide range of his topics, from sports and music to everyday life.
