The 30th annual London Art Fair, opening this weekend, promises to be an unforgettable experience. It’s the most international LAF yet, with galleries from across five continents, and 131 exhibitors. Presenting leading British and international galleries alongside curated spaces Art Projects and Photo50, the LAF showcases renowned 20th and 21st Century artists. Works by notables such as Warhol, Picasso and Miro will be on view, as well as eminent artists of the next generation, such as 2015 Prudential Best Young Artist Award winner, New Zealand-born artist Holly Zandbergen.

The LAF continues to nurture thought-provoking artists, particularly through its curated spaces. For the past three decades, the LAF has presented the critically-acclaimed Art Projects and Photo50. Established in 2005 to support emerging galleries and encourage innovative presentations at the LAF, Art Projects includes 33 exhibitors presenting solo and group shows. Dialogues, a major feature of Art Projects, creates a shared presentation by five pairs of galleries. This years curator is Misal Adnan Yildiz, former Director of Artspace NZ and Artistic Director of Künstlerhaus Stuttgart. For the first time Dialogues features exclusively female artists, 24 women exploring the representation and recontextualisation of the female experience.

Photo50, launched in 2007, examines contemporary photographic and lens-based practice. Curated by the Hemera Collective, this year’s Photo50 exhibition, Resolution is not the point., explores photography and lens-based media as a catalyst for interdisciplinary exchange and collective action. The exhibition features a number of collectives, including (play)ground-less and Foundland Collective, as well as acclaimed artists Larry Achiampong and David Birkin.
