On the heels of its most successful ever Editions sale in London, Phillips is proud to announce the department’s 10th anniversary auction on 24 April in New York. The Editions team was founded at Phillips in 2008 by Cary Leibowitz and Kelly Troester, who both remain at the helm today.

Self-taught artist Anna Mary Robertson Moses, known as “Grandma Moses,” painted "Hurrah for Christmas," one of the highlights of the auction. Today Frieze announces details of Frieze New York’s first-ever themed section, celebrating the maverick spirit and enduring legacy of New York and Chicago art dealer Hudson (1950-2014) and his gallery Feature Inc. Curated by Matthew Higgs (White Columns, New York), For Your Infotainment: Hudson and Feature Inc. will showcase major artists who received their gallery debuts or had a long history at Hudson’s seminal space Feature Inc. in the 1980s, ‘90s and early 2000s.

The North Carolina Museum of Art (NCMA) is the latest institution to acquire one of Yayoi Kusama's hugely popular mirrored infinity rooms. Light of Life, 2018, is a seven feet square hexagonal box with three portholes that allow visitors to peer inside. LED lights in changing colors and flickering patterns put on a two-minute show that is reflected infinitely through the mirrors.

The Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) announced today that Gérard and Dora Cognié have made a promised gift of their collection of global contemporary art comprising just over 400 works, all of which are ink painting related, the majority being Chinese ink paintings.
