Mori Tetsuzan

About The Artist
Tetsuzan Mori (1775-1841) was a pupil of Maruyama Okyo, the founder of the naturalistic school which bears his name (Maruyama). Tetsuzan moved to Edo (Tokyo) where he introduced the Maruyama style to the region. While he didn’t carve woodblocks himself, many of his paintings were adapted into woodblock prints.
