The film questions what is real versus that which is fabricated, and how memory is selective. Other impressions of this desirable Simpson print are in the collection of the Whitney Museum of American Art and the Museum of Modern Art.

Lorna Simpson (born 1960 in Brooklyn, New York) is an African-American photographer and multimedia artist who made her name in the 1980s and 1990s with artworks such as Guarded Conditions and Square Deal. She is one of the leading artists of her generation, and her works have been included in numerous exhibitions both nationally and internationally. She is best known for her photo-text installations, photocollages, and films.
