About the Item: A cruciform composition in bright colors, lightly textured in a spiral pattern and swiped with a hint of green iridescence. The spirals suggest a bouquet of flowers, evoking an old nonsense verse made famous in the 1952 Hollywood musical comedy, Singin' In The Rain: "If Moses supposes his toeses are roses, then Moses supposes erroneously." The support is a found canvas, refurbished and stabilized. It is wired and ready to hang as-is but could also be framed by buyer. Signed and dated on the back.
About The Artist
I started out as an illustrator, then studied painting at Bard College. I've pursued an autodidact’s path ever since, exploring narrative illustration, relief printmaking, digital painting, and ceramics. In 2016 I returned to painting and pivoted from representation to abstraction. I believe our hyper-connected world has dulled our capacity for wonder, so I aspire to provoke amazement and tickle curiosity by emulating, reimagining, and mashing up what we see on our glowing screens.
