About the Artist
Terence Paradzai Nehumba
Terence Nehumba is a self-taught artist, born third in a family of eight. He was brought up in an artistic environment: his father was a class 2 carpenter, and a number of well known artists including Chituwa Jemali, Nisbert Mukoberanwa, and Tanderai Marezva worked in his neighborhood. The work of these figures inspired Terence at a tender age. Terence started to sculpt in 2001, primarily making abstracts and animal figures. He is particularly comfortable working in springstone, known for its hardness and brilliant color. He participated in the first Agio International Sculptors Symposium in 2004 and continues to work toward becoming one of the world's best stone sculptors.
