Cate Chason is known for her pastel drawings and richly textured paintings that convey a reverence for life. Her subjects range from landscapes of her ancestral home, portraits of friends and family and themes of the current political environment. She pushes the media, welcoming the imperfection that ultimately complements the whole. “I paint to see with my mind’s eye,” Chason says, “to give form to spirit, and to honor the people and places that make up my emotional landscape.”
